Hello everyone, thanks for joining with me on another "Help Me Become" podcast.
I pray it's a blessing. Well friends, thank you for your company today. I do appreciate you joining with me around God's Word as we bring to a conclusion this
study on beating frustration before it beats you. I do hope that you've enjoyed this study, and frustration is a real thing.
It is a genuine spiritual enemy. The first four programs we looked in the book of
Ezra about how frustration comes about, and attacks our plans and purposes, and our program that which God has called us to do and to achieve, his desired intention released through us into the world. Frustration's task is to cause our purpose to cease, to bring our purpose to zero, to cause your purpose and your plans to fail. And as such, because it is such a serious enemy, it's very important we know what to do when frustration occurs.
Now I started on this on part five of this series. First thing we need to do is to
pause and pray. After that we rejoice and then we evaluate. After that we decide what our next move is and then we act. And now we're up to the next part. The T is for time. I always enjoy T-I-M-E.
This has burned into my thinking, into my consciousness. T-I-M-E time. Time,
influence, money and energy. Now the first three are very important, but number four is energy, and energy is critical. There's only a certain amount of you to go around.
Self-care is important, dealing with on us as we are particularly involved in the plans and the purposes of the Lord delivering God's desired intention into the world around us, through us, yes? That's what Jesus did. He delivered God's intention into the world and it came through him and it came through what he achieved when he was sacrificed on that cross for you and I.
Time, Ephesians chapter 5, and I started in on this last week, I'm reading to you from the Amplified Bible. Look carefully how you walk. Look carefully then how you walk, verse 15. Live purposefully and worthily and accurately. Not as the unwise and witless, but as the wise, sensible, intelligent people. Redeeming and regaining, or making the very most of the time, buying up each opportunity because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.
O Father God, thank You, Lord, for Your Word. Thank You for this study today. Holy Spirit, thank You, Sir, for leading us and guiding us into the truth of God's Word. O Lord, it is so very important that we understand. Holy Spirit, these give us understanding, revelation, knowledge, actionable, intelligence, something that we can take, learn, and apply to our life today to help us navigate through this vicious enemy of frustration. And so we ask these things in Jesus' name.
Now, time, redeeming the time, making the very most of the time, making the very most of the opportunity, buying up these opportunities. It's important that the expression that frustration is getting in our life. I mean, it's one of the big gun enemies that the devil and his cohorts use against us after things like lack of resources, both people and money, fear after these things have failed in their attacks against us, then the big guns are rolled out, which is frustration, to frustrate our purpose and plans, to cause them to fail.
It is very important as we go through the understanding or learning and understanding, the spiritual attack that is coming against us, that we make sure that the expression that frustration is getting doesn't waste time or doesn't waste too much time. We're never going to eliminate time wasting, but we can mitigate it. If time wasting or time being wasted is something that's cropping up in your project, is something that's cropping up in that thing that God has called you to do, then I'd suggest that probably frustration is there.
The spiritual enemy, that demon if you like, okay, that enemy is there. He's present in your environment. Time is being wasted. And that's one of the pointers to revealing that frustration is working. Time's being wasted. That devil of frustration is there. He's present and he's active. Frustration wants everything to ultimately stop.
Now that's hard to do. That's hard to achieve if you think about this you know if you're a train a runaway train with a hundred carriages on there we've seen movies of this sort of thing you know if there's a runaway train you're not just gonna put up a wooden A-frame barricade and it's gonna stop it it's not gonna stop at a boom gate on the tracks no it's a hundred carriages probably a thousand ton of train and it's rocketing along at, you know, 70 or 80, 90 kilometres an hour. That's like 40, 50 miles an hour. It's just not going to stop that easily.
Why? Because it's got momentum. It's got weight. It's got power. It's got strength. It's been happening for a while. It's going. It's got momentum. And it's the same in the spirit with your progress relative to your calling, to your purpose, to your plans. It's got momentum. There's momentum there. There's weight there. There's power there. You're not just going to stop like that. Just not going to happen. No, no, no, no, no. So how do you slow down the train? Will you do it progressively over a period of time? It takes a while. Yeah? How do they do that? And it's the same.
How do we slow your purposes and plans? Well, waste some time, waste some more time, waste some more time, and it starts to take the momentum out of it all.
And that's a indicator, a key indicator. So if time is being wasted, because the devil just can't stop you in your tracks, okay? He's got to be able to attack you slowly.
Number one, so you don't notice. Number two, he just hasn't got that power of you anyway. So because you're a part of the family of God there's protection there for you and the more obedient you become the greater that protection is. So one of the things that frustration will do is waste time, waste time, waste time because that dilutes momentum. It weakens momentum and remember the purpose of momentum is to build and build and build and build and build and build,
and build, and build until momentum no longer is a flow of momentum or a force of momentum, but it flips over and becomes a force of inevitability.
And momentum has to build and become an inevitability. And that's what the devil
wants to do, is to slow down your progress through wasted time and hack that process. If you've got some momentum going, then it's going to take some time to
slow you down and to stop you. So wasted time is an indicator that the spirit, if you like, or the devil of frustration is there and present. So be very conscious of how much time is allocated to what tasks. How long should that take realistically?
Okay. Now, if you've got staff involved, I've been to a number of business seminars from billionaires and very wealthy entrepreneurs. They were talking around the lines of, well, you know, staff tend to produce, in fact, good quality staff often can produce up to 10 or 15 or 20 % less than you. You as the business owner have got serious motivation, your house is on the line, your income, you got to feed your staff every Thursday, you got to pay all these people, you got perhaps business loans, you've got stock, you've got all this pressure and it helps you perform. Okay, it forces you to perform.
Well, sometimes staff don't have any near that level of buy-in and therefore their productivity is less than than you as a business owner, for example. Now, this is just an example, talking to one particular very successful businessman one time, and he said they've done the sums across this, across a number of their companies, and good quality staff tend to produce somewhere between 15 and 20 % less than the owners were. So, be very conscious of how much time is allocated to what tasks.
If you're able to do something in an hour, add 20 % to it, and you know, it might be an hour, hour and a quarter, something like that. And so you say, okay, I can do that in an hour. I could expect one of my staff members to do it in an hour and a quarter. If it takes two days, whoa, hang on a minute. We've got some serious time wasting going on here. Do you see that just as an example? Be very conscious of how much time is allocated to what kind of tasks. Be very conscious that one of Frustration's main weapons is to create an environment of time wasting. Watch out for that. That's really important. Schedule extra time for you to get with the Lord.
Remember time is the kicker in here. How much time is taken for what? So schedule a little bit of extra time and attack back on the same plane, on the same platform on the same topic. So schedule extra time for you to get with the Lord and pray and read God's word. Keep your word levels and your wisdom levels high through relationship and time with Him. You say, "Yo, but I don't have the time for that." Yeah, I know, I don't either, but we're just going to have to make the time for that. Remember, one day's favour is worth a lifetime of labour or can be worth a lifetime of labour.
There were some people that attended one of my conferences one time and I said, it was just something that the Lord gave me. It was a word of knowledge about
something and I said, "Look, somebody here is about to get a car loan. Would you
please revisit that? Just go before the Lord about that. Just revisit that.
And I just carried on with what I was doing on the night. I got some people contact me a few weeks later and they said, "Well, we were the people that were sitting there in your conference and we were going to get this car loan." And you mentioned that. We were going to go in the next day and sign the papers. Well, we put that before the Lord. And this is a true story. This happened. And he said, "We put that before the Lord, and we never went ahead with that. And two days later, some people gave us a car." See, one day's favour, one moment of favour, can be worth years of labour.
And this is where we need to get God's mind in on our situation. There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is death. It looks good, but it's just not right. It's just not accurate the way God would have it done, the way Jesus would do it. And that's what we need to tap into. So we're going to have to do that through extra relationship, through extra time, extra reading of His Word.
After we evaluate, then we decide what the next move is. We act. We look out for wasted time. We think seriously about how time is being used. How's it, how the resources within the timelines being utilised? These things are very important as you're running a project, yes? So time.
Ephesians chapter 5 verses 15 through to 17. The next thing that I think we need to be able to work with and consider as we're looking for solutions to help us navigate through the obstacles that the enemy of frustration brings to our life. Oh, dear me, how do we attack frustration back and beat it before it beats us? Well, I think the next thing, looking through the Word of God and searching through the Word of God, a very important key thing is found in 1st Corinthians 1440.
Contextually, Paul was talking about the way they did things in the church there at
Corinth, but he said a very interesting thing. He said, "Let all things be done decently and in order, or in an orderly fashion." In an orderly fashion. Now, that's really interesting. Keep order. Keep things in the correct sequence of events. Don't get pressured into jumping forward or dealing with a particular thing just because someone wants it. Okay, this suits me. Well, hang on. Sorry, it doesn't suit me and I'm in charge. Yes? Keeping order.
Part of that is keeping our mouth in order. Speaking right words. The King James has got a sentence that I've wrestled with a lot. Order your conversation a right. Okay, your conversation meaning not only your spoken word, but your lived life. Order this whole thing of you, your words, your actions, your thought life, your approach, your attitudes, all order them are right, correctly. Yes? Keep our mouth in order.
Speak faith. Not frustration. Yeah? Proverbs 18, "Remember death and life is in the
power of the tongue, and those that partake will eat the fruit thereof." Whatever it
is that you're speaking, you're going to get that happening in our life or in your life in some way shape or form. Okay? It's going to turn up. It's the law of spoken words. Jesus, you know, likened words to seeds. They are planted out there when we speak them and they grow up. Words are seeds.
They take on form. The word became flesh and wealth among us. So we know that words can take on form. So let all things be done decently and in order or in an orderly fashion, says Paul in Corinthians 1440, first Corinthians. So what does that
mean? Well, maintain order in our life, especially don't allow our godly routines to
be attacked. Order is critical for progress. Progress is critical for momentum.
Momentum is critical for inevitabilities to occur. Momentum is critical for
Inevitabilities to occur.
I'll say all of that again because it's so strong. Progress is critical for momentum or order, the first going back to the beginning. Order is critical for progress. Progress is critical for momentum. Momentum is critical for abilities to occur, and that's what we want. We want our forces of momentum to flip over into a flow of inevitability, and you do achieve that which God has called you to in this life. It's inevitable. It's going to happen.
And the fact that you're frustrated, perhaps, in your particular area at the moment,
or you have been, or you probably are going to be soon, the fact that frustration is visiting you means that you've done well. Praise God. Fear has failed. Lack of resources has failed. Lack of, you know, the right people around you has failed. You're still here. You might be frustrated and you might be tearing your hair out, okay? Praise God, you know?
Well, we've got an answer, you know? God's given us this series on beating frustration, but irrespective of where or how frustrated you are, that means you've made serious progress. So rejoice, and again, I say rejoice, which is the next one. After you've looked at time and where time is and how time is being used on your project and on that thing which you're working through, you looked at order, is everything organised here?
Is it ticking along because it's critical for progress? Then what do you do? You go back to rejoicing and reevaluating. That's so important. You rejoice again and you reevaluate. Why? because you've made some decisions and you've acted. You've gone before God right back at the beginning. You've paused and you've prayed. You've sought wisdom. You've sought counsel. The godly counsel of other experienced people.
Then you've rejoiced and you've made sure that you've gladdened your heart maintaining the right kinds of attitudes. And then in all of that you've started to evaluate things from a good heart perspective, from a cheerful perspective, even though there's serious problems at the moment and you're very frustrated, but you're still in a good place mentally and spiritually. And you're evaluating things and you can probably evaluate and discern pretty accurately because you're getting counsel and you're together in communion with the Lord.
And then you're deciding your next move, you're acting on that, you're checking on how time is unfolding in the project, how much time are we spending over the things that I've just said that we're acting upon? We're doing this, we're doing this, we're doing this, how much time is all I going to take? What are the resources involved? All of that sort of stuff. And then what do you do? You step back and rejoice and praise the Lord again and re-evaluate. Re-evaluate. Diligent.
Be diligent to know the state of your herds and your flocks. Know what is going on. Re -evaluate. Rejoice and reevaluate. That's really important. So they're the steps involved. So once we've gone through, we've done all of those things. we've made some decisions, we've acted, remember the decision side of it, multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decisions.
Oh man, oh man, oh man, how many times have we faced this multitude of options while we're in the valley? Yeah, but praise God, the fact that frustration is there, the fact that we're working through this process, the fact that all of this is unfolding, means that there's momentum in your life, means that you're kicking goals, means that you're moving forward in the things that God has called you to do. Praise God.
Let me just pray for you as we finish up today.
Father God, I just pray for everybody that's heard these messages, that's hearing my voice and Lord, I just pray that you create space, help them create space, help them create understanding in their life so they can create space to sit with you at the throne of grace as we come boldly to the throne of grace, where we can find help and comfort in time of need. And Lord, as we do that Father, as these people do that, as this person does that, Lord, I thank you that you're there to help them, to care for them, to teach them, to instruct them, to correct them. Lord, you only correct those who you love.
And Lord, I just pray that you instruct them in righteousness so that they can go on and make further, more and more and more, much more, much better decisions, and more of them. Better decisions, more of them, as they're instructed in righteousness and corrected. Oh Lord God, I just thank you for the progress that they've made. And Lord Father, I just thank you, Lord, that Ultimately, you help them achieve that which you've called them to in this life.
Sir, we are co-labourers together with you. And Lord, I just pray that they bring to pass your desired intention for their world, their life, and their environment. And I ask these things, sir, in the matchless name of Jesus.
Amen.
